I am Chartered Counselling Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS), a member of the Division of Counselling Psychology and on the Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS). I am registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HPCP) and a trained EMDR therapist.
I have over thirteen years experience working in the NHS. Since completing my training as a Counselling Psychologist, I have engaged in additional training in Eye Movement Densensitisation and Reprocessing, Mindfulness-Based approaches and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. My knowledge and understanding of the major schools of therapy enables me to tailor my approach to suit the individual needs of each person that I work with.
As a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society and a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council I abide by the Code of Ethics and Conduct of both organisations.
I have worked in the NHS for over 13 years and have experience working in primary and secondary care as well as the voluntary sector.
Throughout my career I have worked with a variety of issues including anxiety and panic, depression, stress, psychosis, substance misuse, bereavement, domestic violence, rape, personality issues, self-harm and suicidality. I have specialised in working with trauma, both single event and complex (repeated) trauma.
In addition to my client facing work I also offer clinical supervision. I am on the BPS Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors. I have supervised qualified Counselling Psychologists, Psychotherapists and Counsellors as well as Trainee Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists and CBT Practitioners.
